Scholarship Fund

Families are doing their absolute best to assist their student-athletes in reaching the goal of becoming a scholarship athlete.  The training, education, exposure and competition necessary to earn a scholarship is becoming more expensive every day.  According to a Sallie Mae study, the average cost of college increased as much as 30% for families in the highest income group of $100,000 – $150,000 in annual earnings.  For those earning $35,000 – $100,000,  costs rose approximately 20%.  Our scholarship fund assists families in need to lower the costs involved in the pursuit of collegiate athletic and academic scholarships.

Breast Cancer Awareness

To honor and show appreciation for our mothers, we ask youth teams around the country to join us in wearing pink jerseys on Mothers Day.  Along with raising awareness, we asked everyone who sees our efforts to donate $1 toward the fight against breast cancer.  We believe in teaching young players to use their gifts and talents as a platform to  positively impact the global community.  We have found that young people are eager to to participate in this work and, with a little guidance, they will take the initiative.

AAA Program (Academic & Athletic Achievement)

Early intervention is key to academic success.  Get Hits 4 Education provides academic support for young people ages 7-13  in a strong after school program that encourages the students to strive for their full potential.  Students bring their school work to the Get Hits 4 Education Academic Excellence Program where they are provided assistance  to exceed the minimum requirements of the day-to-day classroom.  An Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and an Individualized Baseball Plan (IBP) are developed for each student-athlete.   Students work with a certified instructor  for 60 minutes toward the academic goals set forth in their IEP.  Upon completion, students then work with a coach for 60 minutes toward the baseball goals outlined in their IBP created to improve their baseball skills.

Wine & Dine

Wine & Dine was established in 2008 as a Valentine’s Day celebration to serve our families and friends in three ways: 1) To raise awareness of  the accomplishments, goals and plans of Get Hits 4 Education Foundation,  2) To assist families involved in the KC Barnstormers organization in reducing participation costs through the Get Hits 4 Education Scholarship Fund and 3) To build a foundation of inclusion in sharing food, family, friends and fun.  Wine & Dine has grown from 108 guests in 2008, to projecting over 500 attendees and counting.
